"Hi my name is Dave Andrews, today I'm going to show you how to put more memory in your laptop. I have my laptop here, and this is a HP laptop. And more importantly, I have a stick of RAM right here that I'm going to add into my laptop. Now RAM stands for Random Access Memory, and this is what your computer uses to store values temporarily while it's doing operations on it. Let's take our RAM, it's important to go to your manufacturers website for your particular mode of laptop, make sure you are buying the right type of RAM for that laptop. And before you buy anything, go through the process of opening up and looking and see if you have an open slot for new RAM. So I'm going to set his aside. I have a small screwdriver here for these little bitty screws, and most of the time for most laptops you're going to have to go to the bottom with your screwdriver, find the screws that you need to take out, they have a little, in this case they have a little symbol of some RAM that looks like a chip. And that's the panel that I need to take off. So I'm just going to unscrew these screws here, very carefully. And before you do this too, check your warranty. Make sure you are not voiding anything by opening up the case on your computer. I'm just going to pull this panel off, real gently, set it aside. Now as you can see I have an open slot available for one stick of RAM. And that slot is right here, so I'm going to take my stick of RAM, and I'm going to very, very gently line up the slot of that RAM with the slot on the opening. So with our memory lined up, I'm just going to stick in that slot very gently, I'm not putting any force on it right now, because I might damage it. So I'll just lay it in there gently, and I will very carefully push down and it will actually snap into position. Now from there I will take the panel of my laptop, reposition that panel, take my screwdriver here and I will screw that panel back in. And I have just successfully upgraded the memory of my laptop. My name is Dave Andrews, and I've just showed you how to put more RAM into your laptop computer."
