"Hi my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to design a blog template. Let's go to our computer and we're going to use Blogger to do this. Now I've already got a Blogger account but you can basically go and sign up for one for free to create your own blog. Let's go to Blogger.com and then you can basically create a blog by signing up. I want to go ahead and login here with my credentials. I've logged in here to Google's Blogger service and this is the main interface for my blog. I'm going to create a simple post here and I'm going to publish my post. Now I'm going to click view blog. This is what it looks like right now. This is Dave's Programming Blog and then a single post. I'm going to close this and we're going to go to the layout tab and it's in the layout tab that you design the look or template of your blog. Now very first element of the layout tab allows you to move around the design elements of your blog like let's say I have here my archive entries, I can move those around. I can put it at the top of my blog just by clicking and dragging it, put it at the bottom or I can put it back over here on the side just by dragging it around. It's that easy to basically arrange the items on your site. Now to do things like new colors, click on the fonts and colors area. I'm going to click pop out here so you can see what I'm doing. Basically you're able to select the color that you would like to change like here's the page background color, I'm going to make it brown and as you click your change, you can see that the blog immediately changes to match my selection. But that's how you can choose new colors for your blog template. Now the more advanced area is the view HTML or edit HTML area. I'm going to scroll down here, this the HTML for the blog. And as you can see there's a lot of code here because I'm using a standard template but I'm able to within the body section here, I can put my own code into this blog and that will basically appear on every single blog page. Now of course you have to know HTML to do that but if you do, this is where you would edit the HTML area and you can just save your template and you can also preview your changes. Now when you're done, just save your changes and then you can click on view blog to view any of the changes that you have made to your blog. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to create a blog template."
