on 5/20/2009 Is there a way to make a certain color the default background instead of the white? I know how to change the background within the document. But is there a way to make it so just opening word, will have the background color I choose? Thank you

"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to change the background color in a Microsoft Word document. Let's go to our computer and open up Word. Just click on your start button; let's go to all programs; let's find Microsoft Office and let's open up Word. Here we have a, the default document that comes up when you open Word and as you can see, it's a, basically a white piece of paper background. We want to change that and the way we do that is by, at the top tab; clicking on page layout and then in the ribbon here, you have an, an option that says page background. Now we want to just move our mouse over page color and click on that and you can just move your mouse over to different colors. Now I'm not even clicking on this, but Microsoft Word is giving me a little preview of how they would look if I chose them. I'm going to choose sort of a, a light blue color. As you can see here our page is now a light blue as opposed to a white and that if I type on it, it maybe hard to read. So I can also go back to the home tab and change my font color to something that'll show up better on that, on that darker color. So onto this page layout tab, you can also do things such as fill effects which allow you to do gradients which are neat little tool there instead of just being one solid color; it's kind of a, a shade there. So it's that easy to change the background color in your Word documents. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to change the background color of a Word document."
