"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to copy a file from a floppy disk or CD. Sometimes the problem will arise where somebody's given you a CD or something and you want to copy pictures or files that are on that CD down to your computer; that way you can return the CD to them and still have the files. So I'm going to use a CD here and I'm going to show you how to copy some files off of here onto by my computer. Let's just pop this CD into the computer and now let's go to our computer. Once that CD is inside, let's open up my computer by clicking on the start button, then clicking on computer. This gives a listing of the drives that are in your computer and also, sometimes when you pop a CD into your computer, you'll get a little pop up that says auto play; you can do exactly the same thing we're about to do by clicking open folder to view files. I'm just going to close that for now and now that we are inside the computer with the listing of drives; we want to find our CD drive; it might also be listed as DVD depending on what type of drive you have. I'm going to right click on that; I'm going to click on explore. That opens up the list of the files that are on this CD. I'm going to go into the my pictures folder. Now, I'm going to click on this middle button up here at the top; it's, if you hold your mouse over that says restore down. That makes this window a little smaller and I can grab the little bottom of it and I can make this window quite a bit smaller where I can see my desktop. I'm going to move that over. What I'm going to do is I'm going to right click on my desktop; I'm going to hold my mouse over new, I'm going to click on folder. I'm going to created this folder and I'm going to call it pictures from CD. Now, I can just drag the pictures that I want now. Let's say, here's a couple of pictures of a cat and I want those; let's just grab these; click on them; hold the mouse down and do what's called a drag where we move them on top of this folder; let go of the mouse. And it will copy those two pictures and it gives you a little progress bar here while it's copying them into that folder and as I open that up, there's the two pictures of the cats. Now the process for doing this will be exactly the same for floppy disk; except instead of using drive f here; we'll be using drive a. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to copy files from a floppy disk or CD to your computer."
