"Hi this is Bill Scher from LiberalOasis.com. Incidents of problems in presidential elections. Well this became a major issue in the United States after the two thousand presidential election between vice president Al Gore and Governor George Bush. Not only did George Bush win the electoral college despite having lost the popular vote, there was a which is constitutionally legitimate, there was great controversy around the final results in Florida when it appeared that Al Gore actually had more votes then George Bush yet George Bush was declared the victor. And attempts at having a recount were stifled by republican officials in the state of Florida most particularly Catherine Harris, who was Secretary of State and the United States Supreme Court which over ruled the Florida Supreme Court even though the jurisdiction of the court to do that is highly questionable and the United States Supreme Court was dominated by members appointed by George Bush's political party. That sparked a grass roots movement to make sure that our electoral system was clean and reputable which still goes on to this day even though the presidency has changed hands from George Bush's party to Barack Obama's democratic party. But there are still concerns that issues such as vote purges, insufficient voting machines in poor neighborhoods, misinformation about voting locations and the like can distort the vote process and make sure that all votes are not properly counted."
