"Hi, my name is John Bosworth. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in St. Pete, Florida. I'd like to talk a little bit about the effects of methadone mixed with other drugs. Methadone is basically a pain reliever and most people when they think of methadone, they think of it being used in treatment for, for for helping other opioid addictions such heroine and other prescription or non prescription pain relievers. And what happens is, there's some definitely some, some adverse effects on the central nervous system when it's mix with other drugs because it is a central nervous system depressant and a love itself. Many medical professionals advice against mixing methadone with certain types of antibiotics; certain types of medications that are use for heart arrhythmias or high blood pressure and also other, other medications that are similar to, to opioids or opioids. Methadone abuse becomes an even bigger problem when it is combine with illicit or illegal street drug and many of the top, top emergency facilities have reported that, the, the highest combinations and lethal combinations that they see in their facilities are methadone mixed with alcohol, mix, methadone mixed cocaine; I think is the next one and then methadone mixed with heroine and of course heroine being another narcotic, it could actually exponentially or double the effect, the, the effect on the central nervous system. My name is John Bosworth and I'm speaking about methadone mixed with other drugs."
