Hi friends I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida and I have been asked how to get rid of snow fleas. Well if you are from up North you might refer to them as snow fleas but down in the south we call them spring tails and spring tails are generally seen inside the home generally because of high moisture conditions within the house. A couple different things that you as a homeowner can do to get rid of spring tails, 1) you have got to close the windows and turn on the air conditioner. Now what that will do it will reduce the amount of moisture inside the home and that will tend to kill the food source that the spring tails are feeding on which is mold and mildew. Another way is to put in a dehumidifier within the home if you are up north, put a dehumidifier in there, pull that moisture out of the home and again you are reducing that food source and you can get rid of the spring tails. The third way that you can go ahead and get rid of them is by using regular contact insecticides inside the home such as Viacam is a very good product or Demon W P, both of those products when sprayed on the ground where the spring tails are will go ahead and kill the spring tails but remember they will come back if you don't eliminate the moisture problems within the home. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control here in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest free day.
