"Hi friends I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida and we've been asked a question, how to repel rattlesnakes from your property? Well rattlesnakes and what we have in our area, pygmy rattlesnakes are real bad problems. And if you ever get near one of those, you're in trouble. So let's get rid of them from your structure. Number one, remember the only reason they really want to be inside the structure is because they're looking for shelter or warmth or number two, that they're looking for food. So if we can eliminate them from getting into the structures, then we don't have a problem with having to repel them we just stop them at that point. Now there are a couple of materials on the market, spray materials that you can put down that will help repel snakes from your property but they're probably not as effective as going in and actually using an exclusionary material to help keep them out of the structure in the first place. One of the easiest ways that you can get them out of the structure is by using a hardware cloth that you can pickup at a Lowe's or Home Depot and cut them to fit any of the openings that you find in and around the structure. These can be formed very easily, you cut to fit the actual opening where you see that snake might have an access to and you just tack it down with a couple of nails and that will stop the actual snakes from getting in. Remember, if you ever find a snake within the structure, you want to make sure that you call a professional, a professional handler who can come in and remove the snake properly. That way you're safe and the handler he'll be safe as well. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest free day."
