on 3/3/2009 Am I the only one that thinks this is an extremely bad idea. Monkeys are wild animals. They are not meant to be domestic pets. It is cruel to have them as a pet because they will be ripped away from their families by poachers so that you can have a pet. It is disgusting. Not to mention that it is dangerous.

It is kind of difficult to find a pet monkey breeder. You can't just open the Yellow Pages and expect to find a section on pet monkey breeders but there are individuals in the United States that do hold monkeys as pets and many of them belong to the society called the Simian Society of America. The Simian Society of America has a website www.simiansociety.org and you can contact someone at that site and ask for a personal recommendation. You can also speak to people at that site on specific questions and they can help you with any other questions that you may have about owning a pet monkey. This is Dr. Sian Evans."
