"Hello my name is Dr. Sian Evans. I am a scientist at Monkey Jungle in Miami, Florida. In this clip we are going to talk about how to care for a monkey. Probably the most important thing for a monkey in captivity is the companionship of another monkey. Monkeys are social and they adore social companionship so providing monkeys with companions of their own species is very very important. For a monkey to accept another monkey as a companion they need to be well socialized and that means they should have been reared with other monkeys and that means that they should not have been removed from their mothers as infants but the mothers should have been allowed to take care of them. Other than that a well balanced nutritious diet, a complex physical environment and a lot of careful oversights are essential to caring for monkeys. This is Dr. Sian Evans."
