"Hello my name is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo, board certified dermatologist and author of Six Weeks to Sensational Skin. In this clip we're going to talk about how to get rid of acne scars. And one important thing to remember is that when we use the term acne scars, we're really talking about a whole spectrum of problems that you can have on your face as the aftermath of acne. If the quote unquote scarring is a discoloration, then it can be very helpful to use a product topically that has a bleaching agent such as hydroquinone or an antioxidant like vitamin C. If instead the acne scar is a raised bump, then this will be most amendable and can be remedied by going to your dermatologist and having an injection of cortisone right into that bump. Lastly the more common kind of acne scarring can actually be a depression in the skin surface and this can be approached by the use of lasers. There are many good lasers now available or sometimes filler injections. This is Dr. Loretta Ciraldo."
