"Hi I'm Becky Sosa with Stress Free Events and I would like to talk to you about how to prepare to be the Maid of Honor. There are several steps that you are going to want to take. The first is save. This is not a task that you are taking on without a financial responsibility. You are going to have to buy your dress, your shoes, possibly hair, makeup and jewelry but you are also going to have travel expenses most likely. Consider these things when you offer to be the Maid of Honor for your friend. At the same time there are many more things to do. Keep up with the rest of the wedding party, send out frequent e-mails, let the bride know that you are on top of it, maybe take the time to get the sizes of the girls so that you can take care of the fittings and things like that. Also just take care of the bride. That's one of your biggest responsibilities. When things get too hectic in the planning of the wedding take a time, take her out to lunch, give her a call, send her a card, whatever is appropriate from where you are located and just get her mind off the wedding for a few minutes. Offer to take over some of the jobs and responsibilities if there is anything you can do. One of the most stressful things for the bride is when the RSVP's don't come in take the time and offer to call some of her friends and family and help figure who is going to be at the wedding. As far as the wedding day goes itself, help her get into her dress, make sure all the little wedding details are taken care of, make sure she eats that day, make sure she has something to drink during the wedding and also take the time to tell her thank you. If it is appropriate you can always give her a toast. Usually the best man does this but there is always an opportunity for the Maid of Honor as well. Share those moments, make sure that they are happy and keep her stress free. These are the ways to prepare to be Maid of Honor."
