"What is PONY's baseball rules and regulations? First, we need to understand what PONY baseball is. PONY stands for protecting our nations youth. PONY baseball is a sanction. A sanction is an organization that provides rules and regulations for the various leagues. PONY deals with youth baseball basically for sixteen and under I believe and it has a website that has all the rules and regulations. Major League Baseball is the basis for all the rules. To make the game better for different age groups, PONY has adopted additional rules that will make the game better for the particular age group that is playing under the PONY sanction. For instance, and eight and under team may have a shorter game, five or six innings as opposed to nine as a major league team would have. They would have different rules and regulations to govern what age group that you can play in, to create parity and to create kids playing at the appropriate age that they're playing with. They would have rules to help speed the game along, so that they could have courtesy runners in certain situations, rules that govern what kind of bats they can use to keep the game equal and to create parity. So what I would suggest that you do is to go to PONY.org. Right on the home page there you'll find rules and regulations for PONY baseball. You will also need to check with your local league. Sometimes local leagues have the ability to add additional rules that makes th game work better for that particular geographic area. So not only are you going to be under the jurisdiction of PONY baseball, but you may be under the jurisdiction of a local league rule. Check with your local league administrator. Go to PONY.org and you can find all the rules and regulations you need for PONY baseball."
