Hi. Today we're talking a little bit about how to build lean muscle. Now this is one of those topics that a lot of people overwhelm themselves with. They get really caught up in pushing a lot of weight when they go to the gym and trying to press as much resistance as they can, trying to lift as much as they can because they thing it's going to build the most lean muscle. Lean muscle is really just the amount of muscle that you have that's lean. Less fat, better muscle. Probably a little more complicated than that but just to simplify it and keep it simple. What I found in terms of building lean muscle, first of all you want to keep a few things in mind. Again, exercise, nutrition, always the main two components. You'll want to make sure to incorporate cardiovascular training. The most important part once you've gotten your exercise routine in sync is post nutrition, building muscle from your workouts. Making sure that you maximize what you got out of that hour that you spent in the gym. Make sure that you supplement properly with protein and carbohydrates. Carbohydrates help to replenish your creatine stores once you're done and give you that energy to sort of sustain throughout the day otherwise you burned it all off. Protein keeps your body from catabolizing that muscle that you've build once you've been in the gym. Really great tip that I love to give my clients is when you're having protein like a protein powder especially, if you're going to go sort of the shorter route and not with food, you've got a protein powder, you've got a protein shake, make sure that you take it with a simple sugar because it sort of accelerates the process of getting that protein synthesized into those muscles. So exercise, both resistance and cardiovascular, make sure post nutrition is in line, also before workout nutrition is important but post nutrition especially very, very key in building lean muscle and make sure you get those routines in line, eat properly afterwards and you'll start building lean muscle.
