Hello my name is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg in Miami, Florida with Miami Dog Training. In this clip we are going to teach a dog to sniff out. Now we are going to use something that he is going to love which is little mini weenies and we're going to leave a nice little straight trail. I am just going to put a trail of them on the ground in a straight line so that what happens is he is going to start using his nose and I am going to leave him a nice little reward at the end of the sniff out which is a bunch of them. So we have got about four on the ground and normally we do a nice big area but for the purpose of this we are going to show you how to let him use his nose. Now typically also you don't want a leash that is going to correct him while he is doing this and we want him out in front of us which isn't the norm for obedience but we need him to be taking the lead for something like sniffing and usually we use a harness which usually gives them full control. So Bullet is going to use his nose to find that first piece and I'm not really going to help him too much I'm just going to give him a loose leash and let him use his nose. He missed one but that's o'kay. He is using his nose, there he is, good so Bullet is sniffing out, sniffing out, boom another one, and now he is going to find his reward at the end of the trail. Once again this is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg with Miami Dog Training.
