"Hello my name is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg in Miami, Florida with Miami Dog Training. In this clip we're going to talk about clicker training dogs. And this is a process that's typically used with food, a treat broken up into small pieces, preferably. And this is your standard clicker that I got at Petco and it's basically a piece of metal that makes a sound consistently every time you push a button. Now you could use a pen that has a little, a pen clicker type of pen or some other thing that makes sound even a bottle, a plastic bottle just to make this sound if you didn't have a clicker, didn't feel like going out and buying one but we just want a consistent sound. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to click it and treat him. In the beginning of clicker training, it's all about click and treat, click and treat, click and treat. So I'm going to click it and treat him, right? So what happens is he starts to associate the sound with the food treat. Pretty soon we're going to start adding commands, clicking and treating in which case the dog will start to follow command based on the food reward. I'm going to click and give him the treat. Once again this is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg with Miami Dog Training."
