"Hi, I'm Becky Sosa with Stress Free Events. I'd like to talk to you about how much wedding cakes cost. Most bakers, on wedding cakes charge by the slice. So, you're going to need to plan to have just a few more slices than you have guests, because some people are going to come back for seconds. If you have a guest list of about a hundred people, you're going to want to plan on a cake for about one twenty five, so you're going to want to consider that, on how much your wedding cake is going to cost you. The cost per slice starts at about a dollar fifty, this is for a simple white or chocolate cake, with simple butter creme icing. If you want something that's more elaborate, either with fondant, specialty flavoring, or more decorations on it, the price is going to start going up. Often times, the price is going to range from two fifty to three fifty per slice, but again, the more complicated it is, and the more you want on it, the more the price is going to go up. One thing to consider on how much your cake costs is also the cutting of the cake. Many caterers will cut the cake for you, but their going to charge you another dollar per slice, on the cake cutting. So, keep that in mind, when you're figuring out how much your cake's going to cost. When the baker tells you it's a dollar fifty a slice, think it's really two fifty, cause your caterer is going to charge you to cut it. These are some things on how much a wedding cake costs."
