"Hello my name is Rebecca Herrick. I'm a licensed massage therapist practicing at Everything Peaceful here at Wilmington, North Carolina and I am here to talk a little bit about how much massage therapists make. Basically as with many entrepreneurial careers you make as much as you put into it. The beautiful thing about massage therapist is that if you are an ambitious person the sky is the limit, you really have no limits to how much you can make. There are many different work environments that pay differently. If you work for yourself you can charge, you know anywhere from $50 to $80 an hour and you make $50 to $80 an hour minus overhead your net profit comes out differently. If you work for someone else you make a commission and basically you can make anywhere from $11 an hour up to whatever commission you break down with your employer usually maybe it's 30/70 or 50/50 it really depends on where you are going to be working. You can work part time for someone else and then work for yourself as well really how much you make is dependent on how much drive you have, what different conditions you want to work in. If you want to work for someone else or for yourself and other variables really, it is up to you how much you want to make and basically that is a little bit about how much a massage therapist makes."
