Hello my name is Rebecca Herrick. I'm a licensed massage therapist practicing at Wilmington, North Carolina and I'm here to tell you how to own and manage a spa, at least a little bit of how to do that. There are many things you need to know first of all you need to have a lot of experience working in the spa and you need to know the ins and outs. You need to have a lot of experience managing people especially in a health care setting that a spa is. You need to know governments and regulations such as OSHA. You need to make sure that all your practitioners that you hire are licensed preferably experienced. You need to know all the tax implications that come along with owning your own business especially in a service industry and you need to know that you can manage people generally and create a happy environment where your employees are going to be productive and treat your clients with care. Those are just a few examples of things that you need to know in order to own and manage a spa.
