"Hello this is Andrew Reynolds and today I'm going to show you how to make a double bowline knot. Basically this is a great way to secure things to a rope hanging from a ceiling or if you're going to be pulling something from the rope, basically this is what you would do. So if it's hanging from the ceiling or if this is the rope that you're going to be pulling from, all the same, you take the remainder of the rope and kind of coil it up and then basically you would double it for the double bowline. Very similar to a standard bowline. You would just take this knot or this loops here and thread your rope up through and however much rope you leave on the bottom here is how much you're going to have in your loop itself. Once again if you were like hanging a bucket from the ceiling, you would look this through the bucket handle and the put it up through the loop because you won't be able to get that open again. And then you go around your original rope wherever you're pulling from or wherever it's hanging from and through the loops that you had originally provided for. And then you can pull it tight if you need a little bit more space, this is the only time you're going to be able to pull from the bottom. And this the double bowline loop of course just has a little bit more friction than the single bowline loop so it kind of holds your loads a lot more securely. But the wonderful thing about it is that once you have it locked into place, this section will not cinch up as in like a hangman's noose or anything like that. So this is a nice safe way if you have anything that's sensitive on the bottom of this, especially if you're in a safety position pulling somebody out of a dangerous place and they need to tie something around themselves, I would go for a double bowline loop more then a single just to feel a little safer myself. But that is your double bowline loop. Thanks for watching."
