"They say the clothes make the man, this goes for you too ladies. Hi, I'm Shannon Terry, I'm an interview skills coach and resume writer with Resume Confidence here to help you decide what should I wear to my college scholarship interview. First of all, don't show up in the same clothes that you wore partying the night before, right, you already knew that. Here's what you do, just dress the way you would for a job interview. Doesn't mean you have to wear a suit, although that would certainly be appropriate. What I think is appropriate for men would be something possibly a little bit more casual, khakis, dress slacks, you could wear a sports coat, button up, with or without a tie, kind of a business casual look. Ladies, similar thing, dress slacks, button up shirt, sweater sets, dresses or skirts of a modest cut. Basically, I'm going to encourage you to think a little bit conservative. This does not mean that you have to borrow something from you grandparents closet, o.k. I still want you to be you, but tone it down just a little bit if you tend to be somebody who dresses maybe very self expressive in style, o.k. Just you, only down a notch or so. Consider covering any visible body art that you have and maybe just limiting your rings to just the standard two if you have any other piercings. Basically, balance, balance is what I'm going to recommend. Something that is still you, but also respects the eye of the beholder. Hi, I'm Shannon Terry, an interview skills coach and resume writer with Resume Confidence, here to help you decide what should I wear for a college scholarship interview."
