Hi I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida. One question we do get a lot is does salt kill ants? Well salt is not one of the better ant controls. Now that doesn't mean you can't kill a few ants probably with salt but the amount of salt that you would have to use to kill the ants would probably be a more of a problem for you in your home than actually using a professional product to kill the specific type of ant that you have in the home. One of the things that we have learned about ant control is number one to identify the type of ant that you have and then we can recommend the proper control for that particular type of ant. Remember not everybody has the same type of ants in each of their homes so identification is very very important. We can key in once we identify the ant and the type of bait or product that we need to kill those ants whereas salt may kill a couple ants here and there you have to use so much of it to do any good it probably would not be efficient for you. But using products such as I mentioned, the Dupont Advion Ant Gel, it's a much better product for killing ants and you get a lot better control so number one again identify the type of ant that you have and get a good recommended control from your pest control operator or even a county extension service which can identify the type of ant you have and then you will be rid of ants in your home. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest free day.
