Hi friends, I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida, and a lot of people ask us how we can repel deer flies. Hey, deer flies can have a real bad bite. If you've ever been bitten by one, you'll know what a deer fly is. Well how do you repel them? Well a couple of things you can do, number one, personal protection. Long sleeve shirts, long pants and a hat will help keep deer flies off of you. The application on the exposed areas of your skin of products such as Citronella or DEET will also help to repel deer flies from your person. Now if you are in agriculture and lets say you've got horses, cows or things, they have ear tags that are placed on cows or actual head collars that are put on horses. So in both of those contain insecticides that help to keep the deer flies off of the animals. For your pets, well there's not a whole lot outside of the actual repellent collars that they put on the pets. So those are a few different methods that you can use to go ahead and repel the deer flies and to keep them off both you and your pets. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida, hoping you and your pets have a pest-free day.
