Hi, I'm often asked, where do stink bugs live? Well, I'm Michael Piacenza with Advantage Pest Control and I'm here to tell you that. Well, during the Winter, they stay underneath leaves and debris and under pieces of wood and things like that. And, in the Spring, they come out and they climb up the plants primarily fruit and vegetation, they particularly like lagoons and beans. so their kind of a problem. They such juices out of the fruit and when they do that they leave a yeast behind, and that yeast can cause the fruit or vegetable to rot, at the very least, it's going to leave a bad spot. So, where they live is underneath that debris so, if you clean that debris up in the Fall, you're going to get rid of their harborage and that's always the best approach towards insects. Any kind of a problem insect, if we can take care of the harborage, if we can eliminate the areas where they live and what they feed on, but in this case it's going to be your vegetables, so we don't want to do that, then we don't have to use as much pesticide in the Spring, and the Summer. So, get those areas cleaned up in the Fall and then you can put down a biodegradable pesticide that's a time release and kill them off before they go into their hibernation, excuse me. So, in the Spring you can put a topical pesticide on the plant, and there's a lot of bio pesticides that work very well in this area. When you spray the plant, make sure you spray under the leaves because that's where a lot of bugs like to go. So, I hope this has been helpful. I'm Michael with Advantage Pest Control, good day.
