How to Get Rid of Bedbugs in a Car

"Hi, I'm often asked, how do I get rid of bedbugs. But the other day I was asked, how do I get rid of bedbugs in a car. I've been thinking about that one. I'm Michael Piacenza with Advantage Pest Control, and I think I have a solution to that problem. Well, bedbugs are nasty little critters. They actually evolve from a parasite that lives on bats to feeding on humans, primarily in North America. A lot of hotels are really trying to combat this problem on a pro active basis by bringing in bedbug sniffing dogs. But I divers. How do we get them out of a car? Well, bedbugs, one of the best ways to kill them, if you live here in Florida, just leave your car out in the sun. Because if it gets over about a hundred and forty degrees in the car for a couple of hours, they're all going to be dead. So that's one way to kill them. The other way is just get in there and just really really clean it, vacuum it out. Vacuum it out until you think you've got it totally vacuumed and then vacuum it again. And don't worry about them getting out of the vacuum. They will die in the bag, not a problem. Then the other thing you want to do is go in there and just clean everything up. Just clean it, clean it, clean it with you know, some kind of a like an alcohol base, something like that. Then get a bio pesticide dust. Bio pesticide dust is a botanically based dust that affects the bedbugs in a couple of different ways. It has essential oils in it that plugs up their breathing tubes. Bugs don't have lungs. They breathe through little tubes directly in to their blood system. It also has other botanical mixtures in there that affects their neural transmitters and they forget to eat, they forget to do things. It just basically gets them confused and then they starve before they figure things out. So that's really a good way to get them and EcoSmart makes a product that is very very safe. In fact they have one that's in the exempt category so it's actually classified like a food additive.
