Hi, my name is Charlotte Skiles. I'm a nutrition consultant clinical herbalist with Eat in Peace Wellness Consulting located in Austin, Texas. And today's topic is vitamins that help prevent migraines. And in my professional opinion, there are no vitamins that prevent migraines. Each migraine is going to be different with different causes for each person. It's all about the context of that individual's experience that facilitates what will prevent and help the migraines. The medical system doesn't even really know what causes migraines. We're humbled in the face of how these things show up for people. Now, do vitamins play a roll, yes. In terms of someone's nutritional status, plays a roll in their health, simple as that. And we don't have appropriate nutritional status in our bodies, that's going to show up in varying disease processes, one of which could show itself as migraines. So one thing to really think about in terms of migraines is how to support the vascular system. Because something that's involved in migraines is either the constriction or dilation of the blood vessels feeding the brain. Now what causes this once again is going to be variable from one individual to individual and arguable. It's all about thinking through the physiology, coming up with an idea and giving the body a support, you know a way to support itself and seeing what shows up for that person. But what supports the vasculature, something called bioflavinoids that exist in nature in a complex with vitamin C. Those support the vascular system allowing it to expand and contract appropriately for the body's needs. Where do you get these vitamins and these bioflavanoids? You get them in whole foods. Berries are a great source of bioflavanoids. So you want to eat color and know that when you do that, you're supporting the vascular system which can greatly help reduce migraines. So those are my thoughts on vitamins and how they do or do not prevent the experience of migraine headaches.
