Hi my name is Mike and we're going to look at the creative project manager job description. This role involves the corporations communications between for example, an advertising agency and it's clients. The project manager's role is to ensure that the creative work expected or required is done as per client time schedule and therefore has to ensure that everything from the conception of the idea through to the delivery is done within a given period of time. That involves a lot of time management, delegation of tasks, quality control and to ensure that ultimately the client is happy with the end result. So the person involved will actually be monitoring every single element as I said from the conception through to the delivery. It might not be that that person actually delivers the creative work but will ensure that all forms of departments are working in tandem to ensure that the project is delivered as agreed. This kind of role exists in many, many fields. For example, on the Internet there's web designers, web design project management teams. As I mentioned previously, in the advertising agency world, design organizations, packaging organizations, branding organizations, anybody that has created concepts that are used by an organization. It could be done in house for example a company might want to change it's logo or it's image and they decide internally they're going to do this. Well the creative project manager will then have to do this internally. But of course there are organizations that work independently and this is what they sell, creative knowhow. So this can exists anywhere across the media and within the design and production environment. Some of the qualifications the project manager might need is really some experience with leadership as the person will have to manage various department of time management. Ability with software programs for example, at the very minimum, Microsoft Outlook, Excel sheets, obviously have budgeting skills. Working under pressure, understanding and appreciating the communication in the creative process and the links involved between management and the creative teams, work flows, inflows, outflows.
