Why Is Carbon Important to Life?

"Hi, I'm Brian with ericksontutoring.blogspot.com. Today we're going to discuss how carbon is important to life. Carbon essentially is a, extremely important. It is the fourth most abundant element in the universe and it is the second most abundant element in the human body. It's use in all sorts of different compounds and is actually the basis for an entire subset of chemistry called organic chemistry. But really carbon gets incorporated into all sorts of different molecules; that's in starches, sugars. You have phospholipids and, and different, different types of lipid, nucleic acids. Basically it's one of the building blocks of, of life and it is just, it's extremely important. It is worth noting that carbon can form extremely long change that don't break apart at earth temperatures. So, that sort of one of the main reason why it's so important, is it can connect one carbon after another after another after another and it is really long change that serve all sorts of different function. So this has been a brief discussion, discussion of why carbon is important to life."
