"Air purifiers that are good for kids with asthma. First of all, use an air purifier with a HEPA filter. It filters out the particles out of the air that will be a particle size that will meet the needs of the patient. First of all you want a micron size of 0.3 and with 99.7% of filter and the maximum output for the HEPA filter. The bacteria is what you're looking at trying to filter out and the bacteria micron is 0.2 to 20 microns, so you can see that if you have bacteria that are measuring in that micron level that you're going to want a particle size of 0.3 microns and that's what the HEPA filter will give you. For the maximum benefit for the patient you should have two filters. A large size for the dust and the hair and the dander from the pets. And then you want something with the second filter that will take out the minute particles. Then you want to change the filter regularly. Then you will have less asthma attacks, and the airways being more open, more clean, better breathing for the child."
