"Today we are going to talk about how to keep your strawberries fresh or how to store fresh strawberries. You never really want to refrigerate them until you are down to a small amount say less than ten because when strawberries touch each other they let off an acid that makes them turn mushy or a funny color of red. Strawberries if you look very closely the seeds and the fuzz are on the outside of the fruit rather than on the inside of the fruit. So the longer the seed stays fresh the longer the strawberry will stay fresh. Well because the seed is on the outside it needs to be kept moist and it needs to be kept cool so the best way to store fresh strawberries is on your countertop in a wooden bowl or wooden fruit bowl and rotate them every other day or so. Now remember you can't leave them out more than three days at a time so eat them quick. That's how to keep your strawberries as fresh as possible and I'm Paege Chafin from Roman Gardens Restaurant in St. Petersburg, Florida."
