How to Start a Scholarship Fund for a Church

"Hi, my name is Brooke Kramer, and I am the financial aid officer with Argosy University in Salt Lake City. And today, we're going to talk about how to start a scholarship to fund a church. And what you're going to want to do is first contact the church that you want to create the scholarship for. They will let you know what steps you need to do in order to get the scholarship started. Next, you're going to really want to think about what types of requirements you want for this scholarship. Do you want it to be an academic scholarship, an athletic scholarship, or even a scholarship specifically geared towards a religious person? You also might want to consider does...should this be a GPA-related scholarship. What types of requirements? Is it for a high school student, or is it for a master's student? So there's a lot of different things you need to think about before you even approach a church about creating a scholarship for them. Next, you might want to talk to them to see if you're going to be part of the selective process. See if maybe you get to help them choose who's going to receive the scholarship.
