"This is Lois Adams, president and CEO of Freedom Pharmacy and Wellness Centers in Orlando, Florida. Our segment today is what are the side effects of Wellbutrin also known as bupropion, the generic. Now the generic is not the generic for all of the forms of Wellbutrin, but just for one of them. Wellbutrin belongs to a group of drugs which assures that the serotonin levels in the brain which affect are moods are functioning properly and are sustained at proper levels. Wellbutrin is used to treat depression, seasonal effectiveness disorder and smoking cessation. It has another name as well and it's used frequently for smoking cessation. It should be taken at the same time everyday. You should not crush or chew it, especially the extended release or the sustained release tablets. There are serious side effects of this drug which include seizures, confusion, hallucinations, irrational fears, fever, rash or blisters, allergic hives, other allergic reactions, difficulty in breathing or swallowing, drowsiness, excitement, dry mouth, weight loss and gastrointestinal problems such as nausea and vomiting.
