Video Transcript

"You may have recently been hearing on the news or reading in the newspaper or in magazines the problems with gender discrimination and sex discrimination, and you're not really sure what's the difference. Hello, I'm Robert Todd, and I'm here to address problems with gender roles and sex discrimination. I think everyone nowadays can appreciate what sex discrimination is. For example, if you pay a woman less than what you pay a man for doing the same job, that is a perfect example of sex discrimination. What may not be as clear or as understandable is gender discrimination, wherefore example, a company makes the policy that cannot sell women's fragrances -- that they have women sell the women's fragrances. Or that a woman cannot sell power tools. Or for example, in a school situation, that a girl cannot take math and a boy cannot take home economics because it's presumed girls are bad at math and boys are bad in home economics. This is a perfect example of gender discrimination. I'm Robert Todd, and thank you for watching."
