This is financial advisor, Patrick Munro, talking about how to keep a cashbox in your home. Having a cashbox in your home for emergencies is an excellent strategy just in case something was to happen, perhaps in the area of Homeland Security, where you need access to cash but you cannot get to a bank. In that case you would go to your cashbox. Normally, you would find a box that has a combination lock on it and it can be kept in an obscure place. If your home can be retrofitted you can keep the safe behind a picture, in which case you would have a combination lock. This is more of a high-end application cause' wall safes tend to be on the pricey side. However, you can buy a cashbox in Wal-Mart or any of the local discount stores at a very reasonable price. In fact, I give them to a lot of my financial planning clients. It's a great gift, a corporate gift to give them, and inside they can place their wills, their family photos that are very precious in case of fire etc., anything that is very, very important to them, including cash.
