The timeshare of course is a fun investment to have because it's an opportunity for you to hold real estate in a fee simple format and be able to travel around the world in various resorts. However there are times when individuals find that the fees to keep up their timeshare week become a drain on their budget or they're so busy with their work that they're not able to travel and take full advantage of the timeshare. So knowing how much your timeshare is worth is an exercise in due diligence. But first thing to do is contact the resort owner and find out how much existing weeks are going for. This depends on whether you have a week in the high season, mid-season or low season. Then of course you'll want to contact a Realtor and find out what the prevailing rate is for that particular week. You may want to also go online, there are various services there that offer you real-time quotes on that particular resort, how much it's worth on the open market as well. There's a few leading edge companies that do purvey timeshare evaluation and most of those are located in the USA Today travel section.
