"Hi, my name is Kayti Brosnan, and I'm a nurse here in Austin, Texas, and I'm going to tell you, how much RNs make on average. The average pay salary that a nurse makes, depends upon the state you're in, the certifications you have, the years that you have in experience in that area, and the specialty, so this is kind of a general average for everyone in the United States. If you've been employed for less than a year, it's about $21.79. Between five years and nine years of employment, is $26.63, and greater than twenty years, is $29.99, but that's throughout the United States, so a better example would be in California, the average pay per hour is 36 to 43 dollars an hour, and in Texas, it's 22 to 33 dollars an hour, so that's the average cost of an RN's salary, in the United States."
