My name is Josie Minks and I'm a labor and delivery nurse in Austin, Texas and I'm going to talk about how to get pregnant after Depo Provera. Depo Provera is a hormone shot that you get every three months at the doctor's office that helps in, is a contraceptive to prevent pregnancy. And, so when you decide that you want to attempt to conceive, you would not get that shot the next three months and that hormone takes about six to eight months to clear the body and then, in about six to eighteen months, you will be able to conceive. Everybody is different. Some people have menstrual cycles on Depo Provera and some people don't. Some people have side effects, some people don't. So, in the same way, in trying to conceive, some people conceive sooner and some people conceive much later. It just depends on how your body responds to this hormone. Some doctors will recommend doing a detox, so maybe like a raw food detox or an herbal tea detox, or a master cleanse, or another kind of detox that your doctor may recommend. But that kind of helps the hormone to purge from your body so that you're able to conceive. So, this is how to get pregnant when finishing Depo Provera.
