"My name is Josie Minks and I'm a Labor and Delivery Nurse in Austin, Texas and I'm going to address the question, "Is breast soreness a symptom of pregnancy?" And it is difficult to tell oftentimes because some of the symptoms of pregnancy are the same symptoms of having a regular menstrual period. And so, the answer would be yes; breast tenderness and soreness and swelling are symptoms of pregnancy. This is due to the hormonal changes during this time and so, yes your, your breast can be sore, tender, swollen; sometimes the areola can darken during pregnancy and these are all symptoms of pregnancy."
