My name is Josie Minks and I'm a Labor and Delivery Nurse in Austin, Texas. I'm here to talk about how to know how pregnant you are. And so this is meaning how many weeks or how many months you are and usually a full term would be thirty eight to forty weeks pregnant and so, to determine how far along you are in that range, we, we would say the date of your last menstrual period. And so we're counting the first day of your last menstrual period to determine how far along you are. Most people can determine if they're pregnant like at six weeks if they take a home pregnancy test which would be the, the week after the first missed menstrual period which would determine or which would give you most accurate reading of the home pregnancy test if it's positive, you're pregnant; negative, you're not. And so, you can go by your last; your first day of your last menstrual period to determine how many weeks or you can always go to your doctor and here's you could do an ultrasound and they look at the size of the baby, the amount of amniotic fluid and the position of the baby and position of the placenta and all these things can determine how far along you are in your pregnancy.
