Hi my name is Brooke Kramer and I am the financial aid officer with Argosy University in Salt Lake City and today we're going to talk about how to qualify for financial aid for African American students. And the first thing like any student that you will want to do is apply for the free application for federal student aid and you can find this at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You will need your prior year's tax return as well as your prior year's W-2 in order to complete this. By as soon as you do complete it, results will be sent to the university at which you plan on attending and they will let you know what you qualify for in federal financial aid. Along with that, you can also do searches on the Internet for different types of scholarships related to background, ethnicity as well as community service, so there are a wide range of scholarships available for different types of students.
