Applying for Federal Pell Grant in Summer
The federal Pell grant is available for students of certain schools, and a FAFSA form, the free application for federal student aid, can be filled out at any time to determine what kind of funding is available. Hi, my name is Brooke Kramer and I'm the Financial Aid Officer with Argosy University in Salt Lake, City, and today we're going to talk about how to apply for a Pell grant in summer. Now, the first thing is to decide what school you're going to go to, because how you qualify for a Pell grant will be determined by what school you're attending. The financial aid officer at that school should be able to tell you if you need a complete....which year you need to complete the FAFSA for, and the FAFSA is a free application for federal student aid. You will need to complete this application before a financial aid officer can determine what you're going to qualify for in federal Pell grant, and you can complete this application by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov. Now, the way we determine how you qualify for a Pell, is to look at your results from your FAFSA. And we look at the expected family contribution number that is listed on your results from your FAFSA. This will tell us what you become eligible for based on the federal guidelines for Pell grants. If you have additional questions regarding Pell grant, you can visit our website at www.argosy.edu.
