"Well there are actually several types of condoms. There is the male condom that we are most familiar with that fit over the male's penis and serves as a barrier contraceptive method. There is also what we a refer to as the spit dam which is an oral condom for people that like to have oral sex and then there is also a female condom that fits up inside the vagina. These are fairly expensive in that they are one time use things that are quite large but again the most prominently used one is the male condom. They come in latex forms, nonlatex forms for those allergic to latex which is a form of synthetic rubber. They also come in what we call naturals or animal skin forms. The animal skin forms are not considered to be the best. They can be porous as our own skin is and they can allow STD's to be contracted even though you are using a condom. They are good against passage of sperm because the skin pores don't allow the size organism through but the germ and bacteria caused from sexually penetrated diseases can penetrate the natural condoms."
