Hi my name is Peter and I'm here today to teach you what to do if someone breaks into your home. Your doors are your biggest danger zone with a break in. 70% of break ins happen through your exterior doors. And if someone breaks into your home, the first thing you want to do is to go to a safe place in your home, whether it be a bedroom or a closet and barricade yourself into that room. And then you want to call 911 immediately. Make sure you take a cellphone into that room with you so that you're able to call the police. After doing so, yell to the burglar that the police are on their way and tell 911 exactly where that burglar is in your home if you can hear where they're at. Don't go out there and try to confront the burglar. Don't go out there with a bat. People who try to confront the burglar with a weapon of some sort or confront the burglar at all are 50% more likely to be injured in a burglary. So if you are to have a burglary in your home, you want to make sure that you simply stay away from that burglar and let the police do all the work. And that's what you want to do if a burglar breaks into your home.
