"Hundreds of years ago, eggplants was known as mad apples. People thought when you ate them, they would make you crazy. I'm Jawara the chef, I'm going to show you how to peel a eggplant. There's two ways to peel an eggplant. You can either use a knife, or a peeler. I'm going to do it with a knife. First, you take off the ends. Better be careful, don't get cut. Stand it up, and just start slicing. Then after you remove your last slice with your knife, then you can just take a little paring knife and just remove the skin that you missed with your knife. Take my slice off here. And it's nice and clean, and it's ready to cook. Or you can do it with a peeler. Right now I'm just finishing up. The backside right here. I'm Jawara the chef, and that's how you peel your eggplant. That's what I'm talking about."
