"I'm Steve from Denver Anglers. I'm going to show you how to put the fly line onto the rod. Pull your leader out until you get down to some fly line, because what we want to do is string the fly line through the rod. So, we double it up and pull it through the guides, like so. The reason we don't just grab the leader and pull the end of the leader through is because if you do that and you let go of the leader the weight of the fly line will pull the whole thing back through and you'll have to start all over again. You want to make sure that you go through every guide in the fly rod. If you don't go through every guide and you miss one guide and you start to cast the fly rod the fly rod will not cast properly, so again make sure you make every guide on the fly rod. Make sure you get the line through all the guides and then when you get to the tip end pull it through. Then grab the tag end of the fly line and pull the entire length of the leader through the tip guide; like so. Then again before you tie any flies on hold the rod up and make sure you've gone through every guide on the rod, so it'll cast properly. That's how you load line onto a fly rod."
