"Hi I'm Steve Oxley from the Denver Angler and now I'm going to show you some of the important things to look for when buying fly fishing line. Most modern fly rod makers now recommend a weight forward floating fly line. That would be the WF and the F, wait for it floating. Then you need to match your fly rod line to the weight of your fly rod, if you have a 5 weight fly rod, you want a 5 weight fly line. So it's weight forward, 5, floating, fly line. If you have a 3 weight, 4 weight then you need to buy that type of fly line for those fly rods. Another important feature on new modern fly lines is they have a welded loop at the end of the fly line making it much simpler to attach the leader to the fly line. There are also all kind of varieties of fly rods fly lines on the market including streamer tips and sinking fly lines and sink tip fly lines and you need to talk to your local fly shops on which one of those might be best for your use and those are the important things to look for when buying a fly line."
