Hi, my name is Roger. I'm with R-Tech Computers, and a friend of mine recently asked me how good is a Sony notebook compared to any other notebook out there? And the reality of it is, you know, Sony makes a great product. They are definitely as robust as anybody else out there. About the only exception might be the IBM ThinkPad, or the Panasonic Toughbook. Those guys are probably a little more ruggedized, cause' Sony tends to be a little more consumer friendly, so they're a little more; they have a few more bells and whistles. They're a little more sleek looking, you know, they are available in different colors, things along those lines that are more appealing to the consumer. But, with any notebook I would strongly encourage you to get some kind of an extended warranty with it. Notebooks generally only have a lifespan of about eighteen months, because they tend to get carried around, and beaten and banged up. I would encourage you to get an extended warranty with your new notebook, and it'll cost you between a hundred and three hundred dollars depending on the model that you have. And it will give you three years of, and make sure you get the accidental damage warranty. It'll give you three years of coverage, and should you accidentally spill a soda on it while you're having lunch, or spill a coffee on it, or whatever the case might be; drop it off the desk, it'll be covered under warranty, and you know that for three years you're going to have a good product on your hands.
