"Hi I'm Gary Reasons, former NFL linebacker, and this clip is going to be about basic blocking techniques in football. Well the key things an offensive lineman really needs to focus on is hand placement. Believe it or not you have got holding in football whether it is at the pee wee level, the college football level, the high school level or the NFL level holding is key but really you have to do it. You have to have your hands inside and really with blocking you have to have good base. What I mean by that is your legs have got to be square, just outside of your shoulder width. You have got to have a great base and angle and you have got to place your hands inside, elbows up, thumbs up, and that is going to give you a good center of gravity. From here you can maneuver your man that you are blocking on with your hands in his core which is going to be important for you to be a proper blocker playing football. So remember guys for football proper blocking technique, it's all about hand placement."
