Looking to start a fundraiser and you are looking for some real unique ideas? Well really depending upon the size of your organization there are a number of different things that you can do but how about a family festival? We took an opportunity to do one of these events a while back and it was like a carnival set up so you can do a number of different things. There is fun for the whole family. We had little games for the little children and all the way up to things that adults could do. We worked with an entertainment company that for a reduced fee donated inflatable games, just a number of different things that you could do. There are people in your organization that either love to cook or know people that can and then you can sell food as well and this will give you an opportunity to raise a lot of funds doing a lot of different things but at the same time offering a fun time to those that would come and to join you. Perhaps there are children or young adults or teenagers in your congregation that would allow themselves to be auctioned off for hire so to speak, slaves for a day so to speak. This would give people an opportunity to bid on the young people to work at their house and do chores around their house or something like that. It is a good opportunity to teach and to instill things in young people and at the same time raise a lot of money because people really get in to bidding for one another and trying to out bid one another to get the kids to be able to help them. It could be a great opportunity to do that. Also perhaps starting an herb garden or a vegetable garden something where you can get young people involved into tending to and learning how to grow the particular plants and then to sell them. It is a good opportunity to teach as well as have an ongoing fundraiser that could last for a long time.
