"Looking for other innovative ways to make money in your church, or your organization? How about starting a church bookstore. It can be a lot easier than you think. First, I would encourage you, look around, talk to other owners of some of the Christian bookstores, other churches that are operating bookstores. Find out how they got started, find out what works for them, what doesn't work. Then, once you have all of that information, then you can rightfully make the decision if you're wanting to go forward, then when you decide to go forward, look into inventory. You're going to want to get some solid material that'll keep people coming back for a long time. So, look into suppliers of Christian materials, books, DVD's, and other resources to help you get started. Being able to accept credit cards, and debit cards, and checks, these things are very important. Nowadays, especially seeing how many people, many people use plastic for their purchases. So, you're going to want to look into setting up a merchant account. Also, location is very important. The location within your church, or perhaps you want to start a church bookstore outside of your existing organization. Perhaps a stand alone, or in another building off site. It's important then, that you find the right location to be able to easily be accessed by the people. You want to stand out, you want to be seen, that gives you just that much more opportunity to be successful in your bookstore."
